... NATIONAL CULTURAL ACHIEVEMENT. (Manila, November 25, 2005). The SJHS Chorus was given the Honorable Mention award (out of 14 regional choir representatives) in the National Finls in the youth choir competition of the prestigious NAMCYA music contest. The Chorus is composed of 28 boys and girls from different year levels and were only formed less than three years ago as the school's official ambassador of goodwill.

Angel Maquiling '01, high school student council president, valedictorian and St. La Salle awardee, presently the Student Council president of UP-Visayas Student Council was one of the top seven (7) outstanding marketing students for the prestigious 2005 Agora Youth Awards. This award is given to marketing and management students to acknowledge their firm grasp of marketing and mastery of convergence of theory and practice as they go out to the corporate world.

... REGIONAL SPORTS (Cebu City, February 19-20, 2005). Nelchris Tortogo of the Seniors collected eight (8) individual gold medals (3 golds, 3 silvers, 2 bronzes) and four group medals in the recently concluded swimfest at the 2nd Mayor’s Cup of Cebu City.

... NATIONAL SPORTS (Shakey’s V-Leauge, February 2005). Maureen Penetrante (SJHS ‘00) led the DLSU Volleybelles in snatching the women’s volleyball crown from UST in the Shakey’s Pizza sponsored tournament. Her blocking prowess and spiking power, aided by her teammates, proved too much for the UST players that bowed out after three straight sets in the Final Game.

45. FIRST REGIONAL SPORTS (Dumaguete City, Nov. 18, 2004) - Carmela Nava (Second Year 205) was the most bemedalled athlete with four golds and three silvers in the girls 11-12 years old category besting her closest rival who was an International Swimmer of the Philippine Team.

... AMBASSADRESS OF LA SALLE (USLS Sept. 11, 2004). Vivien Lopez (Senior) won 2nd Runner Up in the first-ever Ambassaddress of La Salle competition held at the St. La Salle Coliseum in USLS. She was judged as the Best in Nation's Parade Costume and Darling of the Crowd in a contest where she was the lone high school student competing against fifteen (15) college students from USLS.

... ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE (USLS College of Medicine Quiz Bee, Sept 7, 2004). Rachel Ann Delicano (Individual Category Champion) and Mila Rose Villaceran, both Seniors, won the Team Championships vs. SJI, CSA -B and NOHS.

... RELIGIOUS EDUCATION (Negros Daily Bulletin, Sept 1, 2004). A news columnist of a local daily lauds SJHS' Religious Catholic Education Program for openness to students of other faiths. He said, "...SJHS has also become popular among non-Catholics, not only because of the quality education there, but because it respects religious freedom, too."

... INTERNATIONAL SPORTS (Portland, Oregon August 11 - 19, 2004). Thirteen year old Angel de los Reyes of section 108 (Freshman) won third best right fielder in the recent 2004 Little League Softball World Series - USA

... LOCAL JOURNALISM WORKSHOP (August 23 - 25, 2004). Sophomore Charmagne Nojas of section 205 garnered first place in Feature Writing during the Basic Jousrnalism Seminar Workshop held in Hotel Alhambra, Bacolod.

... STUDENT LEADERSHIP. There are six positions for freshmen governors in USLS-Bacolod (since there are six colleges in this University) for school year 2004-2005. Five of these positions are now filled by SJHS Batch 2004 graduates namely, Klyme, Kayzie, Jomeo and Glenn.

... ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE as a College Preparatory Institution. In the past two years, SJHS has been awarded by USLS-Bacolod as the high school with the most number of alumni studying in La Salle-Bacolod who belong to the prestigious Dean's List. Early 2004, the number of SJHS who made it to the Dean's List was over 100.

.. TRAILBLAZING. SJHS is the only school in the Philippines (probably in Asia?) with a real FM radio station run from inside the campus. With an FM transmitter sattelite dish and receiver and run by a Pentium IV Class computer with 80GB hard disk for songs for local broadcasting, one could not get wrong tuning in to 97.9 SJFM, La Salle Radio, 'your coolest school on air... taking radio beyond music.' .. SPORTS. De La Salle University hangs its present hope for a UAAP gold this season in women's volleyball on a former SJHS varsity player, Maureen Penetrante Batch 2000. She is presently assigned as the team's captain.

... LASALLIAN FORMATION. Among the few and selected members of the Philippine District's Lasallian Partners Council (LPC) that takes big responsibility for advising the Superior of the Brothers in the Philippines is our very own Religion Department Head, Miss Josephine Tero.
